Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Technician to support 24/7 data center operations across multiple sites.

You will install equipment, perform hardware repairs, troubleshoot network issues, and respond to incidents to maintain service availability. Travel to various data centers is required, and you will work both independently and as part of a team with a focus on documentation and process improvement.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT experience.
• Willingness to travel between data center locations as needed.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Performing server rack installations, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues, and responding to operational incidents that impact service availability, escalating to senior technicians and management as needed/required
• Serving as a primary contact point for both internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors
• Performing on-call duties and participating in scheduled maintenance and change management activities
• Contributing to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on your analysis of operational issues
• Helping to train and onboard new team members
