This contract role involves data entry, processing referrals and authorizations, insurance verification, HIPAA-compliant record keeping, and proactive member outreach, coordinating with providers and internal departments to meet deadlines and program objectives.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively within a team
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology, CPT billing codes, and ICD-10 diagnosis coding
• Understanding of healthcare privacy regulations, including HIPAA requirements
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records
• Ability to meet regulatory timelines and departmental performance standards
• Minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to interact professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds and educational levels
• Proficiency in preparing clear, concise, and grammatically correct business correspondence

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and coordination support to clinical and operational teams
• Perform accurate and timely data entry, documentation, and record maintenance
• Process authorization and referral requests in accordance with departmental procedures
• Verify insurance and member information to support timely service delivery
• Conduct telephonic outreach to members regarding healthcare services, surveys, and program initiatives
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to support member care and service objectives
• Maintain accurate, confidential records in compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards
• Prepare correspondence, reports, and documentation with a high level of accuracy and professionalism
