Job summary

NYU Grossman School of Medicine is seeking a Senior Manager, Clinical Research Operations to lead the CRSU within ICRU, overseeing pre-award budgeting, sponsor negotiations, and compliance with federal regulations. This is a high-performance role requiring deadlines and coordination across research finance, contracts, and sponsored programs.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in budget development and negotiation, strong leadership, and a track record of improving startup timelines and KPIs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare, related field, or equivalent in education and experience.
• Five or more years of experience developing and negotiating budgets and payment terms.
• Prior experience in clinical research and/or billing compliance required.
• Detail-oriented and a sense of ownership in work.
• Ability to manage time, multi-task, and prioritize work.
• Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel.
• Ability to communicate effectively through e-mails, in person, and by phone.
• Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Prior experience supervising staff, and helping staff be successful in their work tasks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee pre-award budgeting, negotiation of budgets and payment terms with industry sponsors.
• Ensure consistency of processes and day-to-day supervision of staff and operations.
• Serve as liaison between investigators and central offices on pre-award budgets.
• Develop internal budgets using the internal billing grid.
• Negotiate with sponsors until a satisfactory reimbursement schedule is achieved.
• Collaborate with contracts staff to incorporate final budgets into agreements.
• Enter finalized budgets into the Clinical Research Management System.
• Review study amendments for budget impact and initiate processes.
