Job summary

NYU Grossman School of Medicine is seeking a Clinical Research Operations Specialist to serve as the primary contact for investigators within an assigned portfolio for clinical trial budgets. The role involves developing complete internal budgets, applying inflation and margins, and ensuring all fees are accounted for.

The position requires five or more years of budget development and negotiation experience, a Bachelor’s in accounting/finance or healthcare, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or healthcare related field required.
• Five or more years experience developing and negotiating budgets.
• Prior experience in clinical research and/or in research billing compliance required.
• Analytical, mathematical, and accounting skills to produce accurate data.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop an internal budget using the billing grid and prospective reimbursement analysis.
• Review amendments for impact to budget and contract; initiate processes when necessary.
• Maintain transparency with study teams on budget status.
• Serve as liaison between department/investigator and central office on preaward budget.
• Load budget into PeopleSoft and create chart strings; manage invoicing terms.
