Job summary

NYU Langone Health's Grossman School of Medicine seeks a Senior Manager of Clinical Research Operations to lead budget development, negotiation, and implementation across study lifecycles. You will supervise staff, coordinate with finance, contracts, and IRB teams, and drive process improvements to reduce startup timelines.

The role requires a finance/healthcare background, strong communication, and extensive experience in budgeting for clinical research.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare, related field or equivalent experience.
• Five or more years of experience developing and negotiating budgets and payment terms.
• Prior experience in clinical research and/or billing compliance.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage time and priorities.
• Strong computer skills including Internet and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Supervise operations managers, operations specialists, and support staff.
• Coordinate with leadership to align office procedures with the study lifecycle processes.
• Serve as liaison between department investigators and central office on pre-award budget and payment terms.
• Develop internal budgets using the internal billing grid to cover procedures, staff, and fees.
• Negotiate with sponsors to finalize budgets and payment terms.
• Ensure final budgets and terms are integrated into the research agreement.
• Enter finalized budgets into the Clinical Research Management System with visit descriptions and reimbursements.
• Review amendments for budget impact and initiate updates when needed.
• Contribute to process improvements and KPI monitoring.
• Train and mentor staff to achieve performance goals.
• Develop and negotiate master rate cards with industry sponsors.
• Assist in reducing startup timelines by implementing ideas and monitoring KPIs.
• Other duties as assigned.
