Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC, seeks a Pharmacy Technician II to perform medication history interviews and support the clinical pharmacist within Transitions of Care. You will handle prescription processing, prepare IVs, restock cabinets, and assist with training.

Requires NC Pharmacy registration and PTCB or ExCPT certification; minimum one year of related experience. HS diploma with accredited tech program.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent with an accredited pharmacy technician-training program.
• Certification by PTCB or ExCPT required.
• North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration required.
• Minimum of one year of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform medication history interviews with patients.
• Process prescriptions and prepare medications under supervision.
• Restock dispensing cabinets and anesthesia workstations.
• Answer and screen telephone calls, directing them appropriately.
• Collaborate with pharmacy team, insurance companies and customers to resolve issues.
• Assist with training of new employees and students.
• Prepare IV solutions and aseptic compounding as directed.
