Job summary

Qualifications

• Pharmacy technician training completion or enrollment in school; NC registration within 180 days for Tech I/II.
• Diploma or equivalent required; board registration as NC Pharmacy Technician.
• Experience in pharmacy or healthcare settings is valued but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Perform medication history interviews with patients at Duke University Hospital.
• Contact retail pharmacies or physicians to verify medication histories.
• Document identified medications accurately in the EMR with attention to detail.
• Discuss issues found during medication history with clinical pharmacist staff.
• Provide training and development for technicians and students in medication history tasks.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and care transitions projects.
