VisionWorks is seeking a part-time Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to prepare patients for examinations, perform pre-exam diagnostics, and guide them through the process with clarity and empathy. You will liaise between patients and Optometrists to support a smooth patient journey.

The role involves in-person and remote exam support, insurance preauthorization, and close coordination with retail staff to ensure timely scheduling and accurate recordkeeping. Training will be provided.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office/business professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Training provided.

Responsabilités

• Complete patient registration and submit pertinent patient information into EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with patient care and eye examinations and document results in EMR.
• For remote appointments, assist patients through the remote eye exam process and document results.
• Transition the patient to a retail associate with doctor recommendations.
• Preauthorize insurance and manage exam bookings with the team.
• Maintain patient flow to support doctor effectiveness.
• Answer clinical questions and triage ocular emergencies.
• Instruct patients on contact lens handling and fit orders.
• Travel to other locations as needed.
