Ascension Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Cardiovascular Thoracic Transplant ICU at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, IN.

This full-time, day-shift role focuses on advanced nursing care, education, and clinical leadership within a specialized program. You will lead evidence-based practice projects, mentor staff, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and program development.

Formación

• BLS within 30 days of hire date.
• CNS credentialing from AACN within 12 months of hire date or transfer date.
• CNS credentialing from ANCC within 12 months of hire date or transfer date.
• RN credentialing from ANCC completed prior to hire date or transfer date.
• RN credentialing from Indiana Board of Nursing completed prior to hire date or transfer date.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
• Master's degree in nursing required.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• You will provide advanced care, consultation, research, management and education in a specific clinical area.

• Provide advanced direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Serve as an expert consultant for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development. Contribute to defining, directing and evaluating the nursing care and functions of clinical staff.

• Manage clinical research projects in support of evidence-based practice and disseminate findings.

• Develop, implement and evaluate educational plans/programs and utilize methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.

• May assess the learning needs of patients and families and develop and/or implement teaching programs.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

• Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• One or more of the following required:

• Clinical Nurse Specialist credentialed from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.

• Clinical Nurse Specialist credentialed from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required and Master's degree required.

Additional Preferences:

• 3 - 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in Cardiovascular Care

• Teaching/Education experience

• Leadership experience

• Need to be flexible on shift (support staff development â days, nights, and weekends)
