Job summary

BayCare in the Tampa Bay area is seeking an experienced ICU Nurse for a full-time, in-hospital role. The unit requires an RN license and ICU experience, with shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM.

You will monitor patient vitals, document assessments, coordinate with the care team, and support discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. In-person duties are required, and benefits accompany excellent professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• RN license current and valid.
• 2 years ICU experience in acute care setting.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for ICU patients using the nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegate appropriate patient care activities to health care team members.
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identify sudden or subtle changes in patient condition and respond to emergencies.
• Coordinate and document discharge planning and referrals for continuity of care.
• Maintain high emotional intelligence to communicate clearly with patients and families.

Positions details- Full-Time Region Float Pool ICU

• Location: Varies based on region.
• Status: Full-Time-non-exempt
• Shift: 645PM - 7:15AM
• Every 3rd Friday & Saturday, in addition 2 Sundays in 6-week schedule
• On Call: No
• Always in person

The Registered Nurse – ICU responsibilities and skills:

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patients throughout their recovery in critical care.
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge.
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient.
• Professional accountability and development

Requirements:

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Associates or Higher in Nursing
• 2-year experience of ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification American Heart Association OR American Red Cross
• ACLS certification American Heart Association ONLY
