Job summary

BayCare Health System in Florida is seeking experienced ICU registered nurses for a full-time region float pool ICU, working nights from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. This position requires in-person work across varying hospital regions with shifts that include every 3rd Friday and Saturday, plus two Sundays in a 6-week cycle.

On-call is not required. The ICU RN will care for patients using the nursing process, delegate tasks, monitor vitals, and participate in discharge planning.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Associates or higher in Nursing or higher.
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience in an acute care setting.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association only).

Responsibilities

• Care for ICU patients in a hospital setting using the nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegate appropriate patient care activities to other health care team members.
• Monitor, record, and update the care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identify sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition and respond to emergencies.
• Coordinate and document discharge planning to ensure continuity of care after discharge.

The Registered Nurse - ICU Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patients throughout their recovery in critical care.
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge.
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient.
• Professional accountability and development

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Associates or Higher in Nursing
• 2-year experience of ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification American Heart Association OR American Red Cross
