Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform vital patient care tasks, rooming, intake, and basic lab duties in a fast-paced clinical setting.

You will assist providers with procedures, conduct screenings, manage documentation, vaccinations, and referrals, while maintaining compliance with policies and safety standards. Experience in MA and BLS certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military training in lieu of MA program.
• Two years of clinical MA experience recommended.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to MA scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vitals, med reconciliation, med history, screenings.
• Assists providers with procedures as ordered.
• Performs venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT and CLIA-waived tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Handles referrals, scheduling, insurance authorizations, and patient messaging.
• Maintains clean, stocked work areas and properly functioning equipment.
• May train or onboard teammates and participate on committees.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate patient care across life spans.
