Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient intake, vitals, history, and screenings in a clinical setting. You will assist with procedures, lab duties, and medication administration while maintaining a clean, well-organized work environment.

The role requires completion of an accredited MA program, MA in lieu of traditional training, and BLS as applicable. You may cross-train across clinics to support care delivery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• May have completed structured military training which is clinical in nature per DD214 in lieu of a formal MA program or EMT.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and record vital signs, medical history, health maintenance, and screenings.
• Assist with or perform provider-ordered procedures.
• Perform venipuncture, specimen collection/labeling/packing, and CLIA-waived tests as required.
• Administer medications and vaccines following the rights of administration.
• Maintain clean work environment and ensure supplies/equipment are stocked and functional.
• Demonstrate effective communication and escalate issues as needed.
• Cross-train for duties across clinic practice within MA scope.
