Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform rooming, vital signs, history taking, medication reconciliation, and screening tasks. The role includes assisting providers with procedures, lab duties, venipuncture, POCT, and vaccine administration in adherence to CLIA and safety standards.

You will also handle medication refills, scheduling, referrals, and patient messaging while maintaining a safe, clean clinical environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years verifiable full-time MA experience within last 5 years.
• BLS certification required; department may require additional certifications within 45 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform vital signs, med history, health maintenance, screenings and rooming tasks.
• Assist provider with procedures and laboratory duties including venipuncture and POCT.
• Administer medications and vaccines following rights of administration.
• Handle referrals, insurance authorizations, scheduling and patient messaging.
• Maintain clean work environment and proper stocking of supplies and equipment.
• Demonstrate effective communication and teamwork; escalate as needed.
• May assist with training others and participate in committees.
