Job summary

Atrius Health in eastern Massachusetts is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians with routine clinical procedures and tests in the exam room. You will prepare patients, take vital signs, update the EMR, and provide direct clinical support to assigned clinicians.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency; Medical Assistant Certification.
• Graduate of a medical assistant certification program.
• ACLS may be required depending on specialty.
• Current BLS or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• 1+ years of clinical or customer service experience.
• EMR experience and aptitude to master EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Provides efficient flow of patients to optimize appointment availability.
• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms per policy.
• Prepare patient for examination; measure vitals (BP, pulse, weight, height).
• Assist clinicians with routine procedures and tests; provide pre-visit prep guidance.
• Update EMR with recent testing and demographics; ensure accuracy.
• Inform patients of visit status and delays; manage refills and prescriptions.
• Order and perform waived point-of-care testing (strep, urine, hCG, glucose).
