Job summary

Planned Parenthood Mar Monte Watsonville health center is seeking a Health Services Specialist I to support direct services in sexual and reproductive health, including check-in, patient education, and billing processes. This full-time position requires strong communication and attention to detail in a busy clinic.

You will handle front desk tasks, assist lab and front-office activities, schedule appointments, and ensure accurate charting and billing within 72 hours of service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct service in health center areas including sexual and reproductive health and related services.
• Provide patients with information about Planned Parenthood services, contraception options, and funding sources.
• Assist in achieving health center productivity goals and maintain accurate documentation of medical and financial information.
• Check-in and check-out: schedule appointments, collect payments, and verify insurance details.
• Enter patient information into EPM and ensure billing accuracy; communicate with insurance for benefits and authorization.
• Support back-office lab and direct care tasks, including basic lab testing and preparation of exam rooms.
