Job summary

Community Health Center of New Britain is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and technical support in a primary care setting. You will assist with pre-visit preparation, liaise with the care team, perform CLIA waived tests, EKG, hearing and vision tests, and document findings.

The role emphasizes teamwork, patient flow, and adherence to OSHA/CLIA standards. Expect a Monday–Friday schedule with one evening per week and one Saturday per month, compensation at $23/hr and comprehensive

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency
• Completion of a Medical Assistant course from an accredited/recognized school
• Medical Assistant board certification (AAMA, NHA, NCCT) or AMT registration within 90 days of hire
• EKG use, appointment scheduling, word processing and computer skills, familiarity with medical testing procedures
• Sound organizational skills and accuracy at all levels of job
• Prior demonstrated excellent communication and customer service skills
• Must be team focused and demonstrate leadership qualities
• CHC requires CPR certification (CPR for Professional Rescuer/AED) or equivalent BLS/AED

Responsibilities

• Apply evidence based guidelines and pre-visit preparation for primary care patients
• Coordinate care with Planned Care Dashboard for complete visits
• Prepare patients for provider visits using established criteria
• Document chief complaint and screening results
• Perform and document vital signs
• Independently perform CLIA waived tests, EKG, hearing & vision tests
• Prioritize daily tasks and optimize patient flow with the care team
• Maintain clean, safe environment and stock exam rooms
• Adhere to infection control standards and CPR certification requirements
• Provide excellent customer service and protect patient confidentiality
