Job summary

Community Health Center of Stamford is seeking a full-time temporary Medical Assistant to provide clinical and technical support for primary care teams. You will help implement planned care and ensure accurate patient flow, charting, and test administration in a patient-centered medical home.

You will perform CLIA-waived tests, EKGs, vital signs, and assist with scheduling tests and referrals, while maintaining a clean, safe environment and following infection control standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant course from an accredited/recognized school.
• Medical Assistant board certification (AAMA/NHA/NCCT) or registration (AMT) within 90 days of hire.
• EKG use, appointment scheduling, word processing and computer skills, and familiarity with medical testing procedures.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; team-focused with leadership qualities.
• Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer and AED (or equivalent) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and technical support for primary care providers.
• Independently perform CLIA waived tests, EKG, hearing & vision tests.
• Prepare patients for visits and document chief complaint and vital signs.
• Coordinate tests and referrals per provider orders in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, safe working environment and proper medical logs.
• Adhere to infection control standards and universal precautions.
