Job summary

Community Health Center, Inc in Middletown, CT seeks a Medical Assistant to support primary care providers by performing CLIA-waived tests, EKGs, vital signs, and pre-visit preparation for scheduled patients.

You will collaborate with the care team in a patient-centered medical home, manage test scheduling, maintain clean exam rooms, and contribute to efficient patient flow. Compensation is $23/hr with a strong benefits package and sign-on opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant course from an accredited/recognized school.
• Medical Assistant board certification (AAMA/NHA/NCCT) or registration (AMT) within 90 days of hire.
• EKG use, appointment scheduling, word processing and computer skills, and familiarity with medical testing procedures.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills; team-oriented with leadership qualities.

Responsibilities

• Provide front-line clinical support per evidence-based guidelines and pre-visit preparation.
• Collaborate with the care team using planned care tools to ensure complete visits.
• Accurately document chief complaints and test results; record vital signs.
• Perform CLIA-waived tests, EKGs, hearing/vision tests; manage test scheduling and referrals.
• Maintain clean, safe exam rooms and ensure efficient patient flow throughout the day.
