Job summary

Day Street Community Health Center in Norwalk, CT is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and technical support in a busy primary care setting. You will handle pre-visit prep, document patient information, perform EKGs, CLIA-waived tests, and vital signs while coordinating tests and referrals to support a patient-centered medical home.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited MA program, and MA certification/registration within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• MA board certification or registration must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Experience with EKG, appointment scheduling, and basic testing is expected.
• Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and technical support for primary care providers.
• Prepare patients for visits and document chief complaints and vital signs.
• Perform CLIA-waived tests, EKGs, and basic hearing/vision tests.
• Coordinate tests and referrals; ensure patient flow and safety.
• Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and infection control standards.
