Job summary

Labcorp in Wisconsin is seeking a Laboratory Technician for the 3rd shift (7 days on/7 days off, 9:00pm–7:00am or 10:00pm–8:00am). The role requires an Associate’s degree in a chemical/biological science and involves testing, instrumentation, and quality control to support patient care.

Responsibilities include specimen acceptance, performing routine and complex assays, troubleshooting equipment, and maintaining a safe, compliant lab environment while delivering accurate results and contributing

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
