Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist I for the Madison, Wisconsin laboratory on a 3rd shift (Sat-Mon, 6a-6:30p). The role performs moderate to highly complex testing, QC, equipment maintenance, and documentation under the Laboratory Medical Director. Travel between sites may be required and overtime may be required.

Minimum qualifications include an associate degree in laboratory science; a bachelor’s degree is preferred. The base pay range is $18.45–$36.85 per hour.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a laboratory science or equivalent.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Professional knowledge of local, state, and federal laboratory regulations.
• Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological or clinical laboratory science preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and highly complex laboratory tests according to SOPs.
• Document and review quality control procedures.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Prepare reagents for testing.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues impacting test results or operations.
• Mentor new staff on procedures as needed.
• Maintain inventory of supplies for daily operations.
• Participate in QA activities and equipment validation.
