Job summary

Wisconsin Diagnostic Laboratories (WDL) is seeking a MED LAB SCIENTIST, MED LAB TECHNICIAN, or NON-CERTIFIED TECH for the 3rd shift at the Milwaukee facility. This full-time position involves waived to high complexity testing, data interpretation, teaching, and instrument maintenance as part of a busy clinical lab team.

Responsibilities include performing tests accurately, following protocols, maintaining quality control, and participating in training activities.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Medical Laboratory Science (formerly Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology) applicable.
• CLIA approved Bachelor's degree with a minimum of one year direct clinical laboratory experience in the specific discipline of employment.
• ASCP or AMT certification within 12 months of date of hire or date of promotion into certification eligible position.

Responsibilities

• Consistently performs all assigned testing accurately and efficiently.
• Acquires, maintains, and utilizes knowledge of principles to perform testing and respond to inquiries.
• Follows established protocols for interpreting and verifying test results and notifies leadership of potential problems.
• Works independently and as a member of a cohesive team to ensure timely, accurate completion of work.
• Performs and documents quality control procedures and corrective actions as required.
• Operates instrumentation per procedures and performs instrument maintenance.
• Participates in student, new employee, medical student, and resident training as needed.
• Recognizes and investigates problems and takes corrective action as necessary.
• Completes competency assessments and follows performance improvement plans.

Education

Medical Laboratory Science degree

Certification eligibility (ASCP/AMT) within 12 months
