Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Ascension Columbia St. Mary's Hospital - Ozaukee Campus in Mequon, WI. The position operates on a 3rd shift schedule and involves routine and complex laboratory testing to support patient care.

Responsibilities include instrument troubleshooting, reagent evaluation, and maintaining quality control. Minimum qualifications require a bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science and 1+ year of lab experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.
ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Responsibilities

Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.
