Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is recruiting a Medical Technologist to perform moderate to high complexity testing in the Clinical Laboratory.

The role emphasizes accuracy, timely reporting, and adherence to laboratory protocol while maintaining a respectful and compassionate approach to patients and colleagues. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining lab equipment, performing quality control, and participating in QA activities, with opportunities for professional development and career

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Biological Science with NAACLS approved Medical Technology program and certification
• Registry Eligible with NAACLS MT/CLS or ASCP certification within one year of hire
• Minimum of 6–12 months of clinical internship as part of an approved MLS Training Program

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and highly complex testing in the clinical laboratory and reports results per lab policy.
• Operates, troubleshoots, and maintains laboratory equipment and materials for high-quality results.
• Ensures accuracy of testing per manufacturer guidelines and regulatory requirements; interfaces with Hot Lines and service personnel for instrument repair.
• Documents results in LIS/HIS and ensures timely turnaround time.
• Performs quality control and initiates corrective actions as needed; participates in QA activities.
• Performs proficiency testing and participates in Laboratory Safety and continuing education.
