Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform diverse laboratory testing with strict adherence to quality and infection control standards. The role includes reporting results and supporting the clinical team.

The position involves training students, maintaining equipment, and ensuring timely processing of specimens. A BS degree or HEW certification qualifies, with prior clinical lab experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science or HEW certification as a medical technologist in lieu of BS degree.
• Previous clinical laboratory employment.
• Familiarity with personal computers; ability to interpret various instructions.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate and timely varied or specialized bacteriological, serological, hematological, chemical and/or related testing.
• Performs procedures accurately following infection control practices and quality assurance standards.
• Reports clinical data accurately so care givers receive timely information.
• Instructs student technicians and staff as required.
• Performs phlebotomy and other direct patient services as needed.
• Maintains equipment and ensures samples are prepared correctly.
