Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts seeks a seasoned laboratory leader to oversee the Clinical Laboratory's operations, testing, and reporting, ensuring quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across all services.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in medical technology (MT/ASCP), at least 7 years of lab experience with 3 years in supervision, and strong management and communication skills; a Master's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related science field.
• Registered MT (ASCP) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall operation and administration of the Clinical Laboratory.
• Ensure testing systems provide quality services across pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases.
• Ensure laboratory compliance with policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements.
• Maintain collaborative relationships with hospital management, staff, and physicians to achieve goals and foster a positive work environment.
• Lead strategic planning for the laboratory and develop departmental goals and objectives.
