Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• Five years of related experience with demonstrated leadership skills.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
• ASCP certification as Medical Technologist is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the work of others in a medical laboratory section with considerable independence.
• Interviews prospective candidates and makes recommendations to Manager.
• Schedules employees for lab benches and shifts; reviews work for completeness and quality.
• Provides guidance on interpretation of highly complex test results and troubleshoots testing process discrepancies.
• Maintains accurate records of tests performed and ensures compliance with safety and QA policies.
