Job summary

Elliot Health System seeks a Clinical Lab Assistant to support the Elliot Hospital Laboratory. The role involves phlebotomy, sample labeling, and clerical duties to keep the workflow smooth across locations in Manchester, NH. Must be able to handle patient interactions and data entry into EPIC.

Position requires a High School diploma, phlebotomy training or experience, and ASCP certification is preferred. Weekend/holiday rotation applies as part of lab operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy course or phlebotomy experience preferred.
• ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced venipuncture and capillary collection.
• Accurately identifies patient and labels specimens in the presence of the patient.
• Verify patient requisitions and document orders; ensure accuracy of patient name and DOB.
• Accurately perform computerized clerical duties, verify orders and document collections.
• Receive specimens, prepare for processing, and label specimens.
• Answer incoming calls, provide patient testing results and refer questions to technical staff.
• Enter laboratory orders into EPIC received via fax or phone.
