Job summary

TriCore is New Mexico’s largest laboratory and this role is based at the Winrock location in Albuquerque. The Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist position requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Compensation depends on the number of modalities performed; a paid apprenticeship is possible for candidates without experience. Regular attendance during scheduled hours is essential; the job offers robust benefits, a 401(k) with employer matching, PTO, and paid holidays,

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma or equivalent.
• PBT (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Completion of a Clinical Lab Assistant or comparable program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintains supplies and inventory necessary to perform departmental functions.
• Observe students and/or new staff as needed.
• Exhibits basic problem solving skills to ensure exceptional patient care service levels.
• Responsible for hospital communication responsibilities including on-call duties as assigned by location.
• Demonstrates effective telephone and verbal communication skills.
• Maintains confidentiality of information.
• Participates in coverage for holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed.
