Job summary

TriCore, Inc. in New Mexico is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist to join SRMC. This hourly position offers on-site work, potential apprenticeship for those with limited experience, and on-call responsibilities.

You’ll perform phlebotomy duties, support routine lab tasks, and contribute to quality patient care. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and there is a path toward ASCP PBT certification with relevant program completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• ASCP PBT certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Completion of a Clinical Lab Assistant or comparable program is preferred.
• Proof of Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination or a waiver is required.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record are required.
• Eligible to work in a healthcare facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintain supplies and inventory for departmental functions.
• Observe students and/or new staff as needed.
• Demonstrate effective telephone and verbal communication skills.
• Handle on-call responsibilities during scheduled hours at the location.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and records.
• Document critical communications and assist with clerical duties as needed.
• Assist with coverage for holidays, evenings, and weekends as required.
