Job summary

Intermountain Health Logan Regional Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support specimen ordering, receiving, and distribution along with clerical and customer service duties. You will work with doctors, nurses, and medical laboratory scientists to ensure accurate specimen handling and timely communication of results.

This role emphasizes teamwork, attention to regulatory requirements, and ongoing training to support staff and patient care in a dynamic laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Healthcare related program in progress is preferred.
• Prior healthcare and/or clinical laboratory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses EMR/LIS to place orders, receive specimens, route specimens, track and label specimens, and query results.
• Provides clerical, administrative, and customer service support to the department.
• Answers phones and provides information to nursing floor, physicians, office staff, couriers and patients.
• Dispatch of couriers as required.
• Communicates test results and reports to nursing units/physician offices (electronic or printed).
• Monitors and maintains supply inventory.
• Assists in training and orientation of new associates.
