Job summary

Intermountain Health Delta Community Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Assistant I to support a dynamic laboratory team and assist in patient care. You will order and prepare patient samples, deliver specimens, and work closely with doctors, nurses, and medical laboratory scientists to ensure efficient workflow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Community college program, nursing/EMT or healthcare related program in progress is preferred.
• Previous healthcare and/or clinical laboratory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses EMR/LIS to place orders, receive and route specimens, label and track specimens.
• Provides clerical, administrative, and customer service support; answers phones and assists nursing floors, physicians, office staff, couriers and patients.
• Communicates test results and reports to nursing units and physician offices in electronic or printed form.
• Monitors and maintains supply inventory.
• Assists in training and orientation of new associates.
