Overview

Join Our Laboratory Team as a Lab Aide Processor at Logan Health Medical Center Laboratory in Kalispell, MT. The position supports daily laboratory operations and provides essential specimen handling and customer service in a compassionate, quality‑focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive and handle specimen types including urine, microbiology samples, swabs, surgical specimens, and blood.
• Verify labeling accuracy and relabel specimens when necessary.
• Distribute specimens to appropriate laboratory departments for testing.
• Answer phone calls and provide courteous, timely customer service.
• Advocate for improved collection and ordering procedures as applicable.
• Serve as contact for inquiries, providing status and processing updates of specimens.
• Escalate unresolved issues according to department procedure and protocol.
• Ensure correct patient identification, verify before collection, and label specimens accurately.
• Handle incoming specimens, sort and deliver to processing, and check accuracy of requisition and labeling.
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.

Qualifications

• Prior healthcare or laboratory experience preferred but not required.
• Comfortable working in a laboratory environment and handling specimens, including urine or blood samples.
• Current CPR certification per assigned area(s).
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software.
• Excellent organizational skills, detail‑oriented, self‑starter, critical thinking, ability to prioritize and work independently or as part of a team.
• Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for various audiences.
• Strong interpersonal skills to manage sensitive, confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

Schedule

Shift: Variable – 8 hours. Full‑time, 36 hours per week. Primarily evening shifts between 11am and 1pm, Monday‑Friday with rotating Saturday coverage. Logan Health operates 24hours per day, seven days per week; schedules may be adjusted as needed.
