Job summary

Mountain View Hospital is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Idaho Falls. Responsibilities include ordering, collecting, processing routine and specialty tests, and returning results to providers. You will ensure accurate data entry, labeling, and maintain patient identification.

Qualifications

• Education/Certification: High School Diploma or higher. Current BLS Certification. Valid driver’s license.
• Experience: Phlebotomy course or phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Equipment/Technology: Computers and basic lab equipment experience.

Responsibilities

• Proficiency in collecting correct blood samples and proper labeling.
• Transport and deliver samples to laboratory per policy.
• Know ordering, stocking and rotating lab supplies.
• Ensure patients receive appropriate care and service quality.
• Follow policies including employee handbook and safety rules.
• Mentor new staff and maintain professional relationships within the lab.
• Maintain quality control for procedures and lab results.
• Enter, scan, and print lab orders and reports; fax to ordering doctors.
