Job summary

Providence seeks a Clinical Informatics Lab Specialist who will independently support laboratory components of the EHR, CDS and related information systems. You will collaborate to design efficient laboratory workflows, gather data for leadership decisions, and implement changes aligned with patient safety and regulatory goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in clinical discipline, IT/informatics, or related field.
• 2 years in a role with primary duties working with a clinical information system in a healthcare setting.
• Experience with EHR systems.
• Experience with benefits and challenges of adult learning.
• Preferred: Informatics certifications or credentialing (may be waived for up to 2 years).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and application expertise to enhance laboratory information systems.
• Respond to improvement needs in laboratory computer systems' operation.
• Document system design and workflows for clinical and laboratory management.
• Act as liaison between laboratory stakeholders and system build teams.
• Ensure system design aligns with standardization, integration and efficiency goals.
• Collaborate with education team to develop change communication and training materials.
