Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem is seeking a Parts Coordinator in Clinical Engineering to manage local parts inventory, identify correct replacement parts, and coordinate procurement under established vendor contracts. You will align with CE and central Procurement to ensure timely parts availability for maintenance and repairs.

The role requires 3–5 years in Clinical Engineering or related purchasing roles, plus an associate degree in a relevant field.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• CBET (AAMI) or CPP/CPSM preferred.
• 3-5 years in Clinical Engineering / Healthcare Technology Management, OR 3-5 years in purchasing, requisitioning, or parts / inventory management in a technical or healthcare setting.
• Experience in both Clinical Engineering and purchasing preferred.
• BMET experience or hospital CE procurement experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Translate technician requests into part numbers and specs using manuals, schematics, vendor portals, and equipment history.
• Prepare and submit accurate purchase requisitions under vendor contracts and pricing agreements; manage purchase orders.
• Serve as liaison between Clinical Engineering and central Procurement / Accounts Payable; track status, backorders, and discrepancies.
• Receive, inspect, and stage incoming parts; manage local inventory and determine par levels using usage data.
• Create, implement, and communicate processes to standardize parts acquisition across sites.
• Maintain CMMS records of parts ordered, received, and installed; ensure compliance with policies.
• Evaluate supplier offerings and recommend best-fit sources among contracted options.
• Train CE staff on requisition processes, inventory practices, and CMMS documentation requirements.
