Job summary

Oak Street Health in Indianapolis is seeking a Medical Scribe to support primary care providers with clinical documentation. You will observe visits, document encounters, and assist with coding and after-visit summaries in a fast-paced clinic setting.

This full-time role requires 1–2 years in a clinical setting, strong listening/communication, and fluency in required languages. Eligible for CVS Health benefits and a comprehensive pay/bonus program.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications (required).
• Prior clinical experience, including shadowing/volunteering (strongly preferred).
• Prior scribe or transcription experience (preferred).
• Advanced listening and communication skills (required).
• Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new workflows (required).
• Fluency in Spanish, Polish, Russian, or other languages spoken by communities served (required where indicated).
• Ability to type 70+ words per minute (strongly preferred).
• US work authorization (required).

Responsibilities

• Document Patient Encounters in real time with structured notes.
• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Prepare After Visit Summaries.
• Support Daily Huddles and Clinical Documentation Reviews.
• Administrative tasks: placing orders and referrals.
• Collaborate with provider and care team on documentation opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned.
