Job summary

Qualifications

• Active AHIMA or AAPC credential required.
• Two years of recent coding experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, pharmacology and ICD-10/CPT/HCPCS.
• Ability to code at a 95% quality threshold while meeting production standards.
• Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Select and sequence ICD-10, and/or CPT/HCPCS codes for designated patient types.
• Review and analyze facility records to ensure APC assignments reflect diagnoses/procedures.
• Abstract clinical data to support diagnoses, procedures and discharge disposition.
• Complete assigned work functions and assist client staff with data integrity and coding practices.
• Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Participate in client and Savista meetings and trainings.
• Maintain current knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS coding guidelines and regulations.
• Pursue continuing education to maintain credentials.
