MercyOne Health System is seeking a Clinic Receptionist to greet patients and visitors and support front desk operations at the Des Moines clinic. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS certification within 3 months, and adherence to Trinity Health's mission and confidentiality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
• Requires the ability to read, write and understand English and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
• Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality when dealing with patient information.
• Must possess a personal presence that demonstrates honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to promote the mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes patients and visitors to the clinic, providing a professional demeanor.
• Performs front desk duties including managing patient flow and scheduling appointments.
• Answers phone calls and directs them appropriately.
• Obtains patient and insurance information and collects copays/deductibles.
• Copies/scans patient-related materials into the electronic medical record system.
