Job summary

MercyOne Health System is seeking a Clinic Receptionist to greet patients and visitors, manage front desk operations, and support smooth patient flow.

The role includes confirming insurance details, entering data into the EHR, handling copays, and coordinating appointments in a fast-paced clinic environment. A high school diploma is required along with BLS certification or training within three months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
• Ability to read, write and understand English, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
• Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality regarding patient information.
• Must possess honesty, integrity, and caring to promote Trinity Health's mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes patients and visitors to the clinic.
• Manages front desk responsibilities including patient flow and scheduling.
• Answers phone calls and directs them appropriately.
• Schedules appointments according to office guidelines.
• Obtains accurate patient and insurance information, collecting copays and deductibles.
• Enters demographics, insurance, and other information into the EHR and other systems.
