Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is seeking a clinic support specialist to check in and out patients, answer calls, and enter demographic and insurance information with accuracy. This full-time role runs Monday through Friday, 8am–5pm, with a focus on delivering outstanding patient service and accurate revenue documentation.

Under supervision, you will support clinic operations and respond to patient needs in the waiting area while maintaining high standards of courtesy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• One year of customer service experience is required.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and PC applications is required.
• Must be able to perform math and bookkeeping skills; strong telephone and customer service skills; good English grammar and punctuation.

Responsibilities

• Check in scheduled and add-on patients to the clinic and route calls.
• Enter demographic, insurance and charge data into the system; check patients out and perform follow-up as needed.
