Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Minneapolis is seeking a Clinic Appointment Coordinator to join the Clinics and Surgery Center. This role handles patient check-in, coordinates follow-up appointments, and ensures a welcoming, efficient patient experience.

The coordinator supports the care team, manages scheduling, collects co-pays, and communicates across departments to meet patient needs, with a strong emphasis on customer service and teamwork. Clinic hours Monday–Friday, no weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or front desk roles.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge and keyboarding skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check-in patients and families for arrival.
• Direct patients to waiting areas and manage flow to reduce delays.
• Prioritize needs when multiple situations arise while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
• Monitor Care Connect information and assist the care team as needed.
• Collect patient co-payments.
• Ensure interpreter services are available when needed.
• Coordinate and schedule follow-up and/or future appointments and/or procedures.
• Reschedule appointments by contacting patients and confirming provider availability.
• Communicate with care team and departments to ensure smooth patient care processes.
• Meet patient needs and involve care team/management when necessary.
