Job summary

Profound is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to serve as the technical bridge between our engineering team and Fortune 500 clients in NYC or SF. You will design and implement custom integrations, write production-grade TypeScript, Python, and Next.js code, and translate complex requirements into scalable solutions while presenting to CTOs and executive sponsors.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering experience with production systems.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Next.js, and React.
• Solid Python experience for backend development and data processing.
• Experience with REST APIs and system integration patterns.
• Database experience including PostgreSQL and time-series databases.
• Comfort with cloud platforms, with AWS preferred.
• Rust experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Design and build custom integrations linking Profound’s platform to enterprise systems.
• Write production-quality code in TypeScript, Python, and Next.js for client features.
• Architect solutions for enterprise-scale data volumes and security.
• Debug issues spanning client infrastructure and Profound systems.
• Optimize performance for clients with millions of daily queries.
• Lead technical discussions with client teams and executives.
• Translate client requirements into technical solutions during calls.
• Present architectures and implementation plans to diverse audiences.
• Build reusable components and libraries for common patterns.
• Document solutions and create implementation guides.
• Influence product roadmap with direct customer feedback.
• Lead proofs of concept unlocking multi-million dollar contracts.
• Design data pipelines and dashboards for BI and data warehouses.
• Develop automation workflows connecting AI insights to business processes.
• Build trusted relationships with technical champions at Fortune 500s.
• Contribute to core product development from field insights.
