Job summary

TribalScale is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work at the intersection of software engineering, AI, product development, and client delivery. You will embed with client and internal teams to understand complex business problems, rapidly design solutions, and deploy production-quality software in real-world environments.

You will be both hands-on and a trusted technical partner, translating business needs into working products while helping clients make sound technology decisions.

Qualifications

• Production-grade software experience with AI-powered systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python or TypeScript and related toolchains.
• Understanding harness engineering for reliable AI agents.
• Experience with agent loops: planning, tool use, and execution.
• Familiarity with graph-based orchestration and state machines.
• Ability to design evaluation and monitoring for AI applications.
• Knowledge of APIs, cloud infrastructure, and modern software practices.
• Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar systems and domains.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to understand objectives and constraints.
• Design AI-enabled apps and agentic workflows for production use.
• Build APIs, data pipelines, and full-stack components.
• Engineer harnesses around AI models: prompts, tools, controls.
• Create and refine agent loops for planning, execution, and observation.
• Model workflows as graphs/state machines coordinating models and tools.
• Develop evaluation frameworks for task completion, safety, and latency.
• Integrate solutions with client systems and cloud platforms.
• Ensure observability, testing, and secure delivery across stacks.
