Job summary

TribalScale is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join our team and work at the intersection of software engineering, AI, product development, and client delivery. You will embed with client and internal teams to rapidly design solutions and deploy production-quality software in real-world environments.

Qualifications

• Production-grade software experience, including AI-powered or agentic systems.
• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript and related tooling.
• Understanding harness design: context, tools, permissions, controls, feedback.
• Experience with agent loops: planning, tool use, execution, observation, reflection, recovery, termination.
• Familiarity with graph-based orchestration and multi-step workflows.
• Ability to design evaluation systems and production monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Partner with clients to understand objectives, environments, data, constraints.
• Translate business needs into technical requirements and delivery plans.
• Design and build AI-enabled applications, agentic workflows, APIs and data pipelines.
• Engineer AI model harnesses: prompts, tools, memory, permissions, controls, observability.
• Develop agent loops and graph-based orchestration across models and tools.
• Create evaluation frameworks and oversee deployment of secure, scalable products.
• Integrate solutions with client systems and cloud platforms.
• Contribute across the tech stack from UI to AI infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
• Implement safeguards, permissions, approvals, and fallbacks for autonomous systems.
• Instrument AI applications for tracing, diagnostics, and performance improvements.
