Job summary

Gilder Search Group is assisting a large global law firm in Los Angeles to hire a Client Billing Compliance Analyst. The role focuses on reviewing Outside Counsel Guidelines to ensure client billing aligns with expectations, providing training, and supporting budgets and client economics.

The analyst will communicate with partners, clients and staff to offer recommendations and ensure accuracy in e-billing and timekeeping practices. Flexibility for overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred, accounting or business background desirable.
• 3–5 years of law firm e-billing experience.
• Proficient with e-billing protocols, vendors and the e-Billing Hub; familiarity with third-party software.
• Knowledge of billing/collection best practices in the legal industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, high attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Review Outside Counsel Guidelines and summarize for timekeepers.
• Train timekeepers on guidelines, narrative etiquette, expenses, and code usage.
• Coordinate best practice procedures for smooth billing with partners and clients.
• Prepare reports and analyses as requested by management or clients.
• Monitor billing deadlines to minimize cycles between billing and collections.
• Act as liaison between clients, partners and staff to resolve issues.
• Coordinate the efforts of internal staff, vendor staff and client personnel.
