Job summary

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP is seeking a Client Compliance Specialist within the Billing and Accounts Receivable department to ensure accurate compliant client billing. The role involves interpreting Outside Counsel Guidelines, guiding Billing, eBilling and Client Arrangements teams, and collaborating across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of legal billing/eBilling experience, a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field,

Qualifications

• Two years of related experience in legal billing or eBilling.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or related field.
• Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with electronic billing systems (Aderant Expert) and rate hierarchy structures preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a hybrid (remote/in-office) environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret client Outside Counsel Guidelines and distribute billing requirements to firm personnel.
• Ensure accurate compliance within the firm’s billing systems and guidelines.
• Advise on revisions to engagement letters and billing instructions.
• Maintain matter-level billing instructions and documents.
• Onboard new eBilled clients and migrations to eBilling platforms.
• Coordinate eBilling onboardings across teams and clients.
• Process eBilling vendor invoices and monitor payments.
