Job summary

Northern Trust, a global financial services leader, seeks a Personal/Universal Banker to deliver exceptional client service across in-person, phone, and email channels. You will handle account servicing, wires, transfers, and product inquiries while ensuring compliance with banking guidelines and risk controls.

Ideal candidates bring 2–3 years of related experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal regulation, banking guidelines, banking operations, products and services, acquired through related work experience is preferred.
• Strong client service skills, problem solving, and organizational skills are required to identify, research and/or resolve requests.
• Ability to think critically and to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• 2-3 years of related experience

Responsibilities

• Executes and/or submits client account servicing requests within appropriate time frames (wires, fund transfers, opening/closing accounts, maintenance).
• Handles paying and receiving activities, including cash transactions and daily balancing.
• Develops understanding of steps for each request and coordinates with relationship management and NCSS teams as needed.
• Maintains adherence to policies and complies with Northern Trust risk guidelines, escalating issues as needed.
• Develops knowledge of business applications and online tools to support client servicing.
• Assists with Safe Deposit Box maintenance where available.
• Keeps informed about Northern Trust products and services to expand client relationships.
• Monitors banking reports and supports audits as directed.
