Job summary

Northern Trust in Chicago seeks a Personal/Universal Banker to deliver an exceptional client service experience while servicing clients with a full range of banking products and services. You will respond to inquiries, execute account actions, and maintain accurate client records in a structured, compliant environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with relationship managers and NCSS teams to ensure smooth transactions and strong client relationships.

Qualifications

Knowledge of federal regulation, banking guidelines and products.
Strong client service, problem solving and organizational skills.
Ability to think critically and work independently or in a team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
2–3 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

Executes and/or submits client account servicing requests within appropriate time frames, including wires and fund transfers, opening/closing accounts, and maintaining records.
Handles paying and receiving activities, including cash transactions and daily balancing.
Collaborates with relationship management and NCSS teams to obtain necessary information for requested activities.
Ensures adherence to policies, procedures, risk management and compliance guidelines, escalating issues as needed.
Keeps informed of banking products and services to respond to client questions and expand relationships.
Monitors banking reports and assists with banking audits as directed.
